Solutions engineer
Help teams describe their first jobs, connect their tools and run their first replay.
Most teams come to Capstan with one job in mind: refunds, lead routing, a weekly report someone hates writing. The ones who succeed describe that job well, connect the right tools with the right scopes, and run a replay before they turn anything on. You'll help every Business and Enterprise team get there in their first two weeks.
You'll work with Grace Mwangi, Owen Price and the account team in New York.
What you'll do
- Run the first working sessions with new customers: describe the job together, connect the tools, read the first replay side by side.
- Build agents with customers when the job is complex, and turn what you build into templates every team can start from.
- Answer the technical questions in a sale, from API limits to how approvals work in Microsoft Teams.
- Bring what customers struggle with back to product and engineering, with the runs that show it.
- Write the guides that make the next customer need you less.
What you'll bring
- Three or more years as a solutions engineer, sales engineer or technical account manager for a B2B software product.
- You can read an API reference and make a request work, and you're comfortable with JSON, webhooks and OAuth.
- You've run, or worked closely with, a support, sales or operations team.
- Patience, and the habit of writing things down.
Nice to have
- You've built automations in Zapier, n8n or a workflow tool, and know where they break.
- Experience with Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk or Intercom admin.
Where you'll work
In our New York office near Union Square, at least three days a week.
