Twelve tabs on a Friday
Halden makes a design-review tool for product teams. Four competitors ship every week, and the product team took turns reading their pricing pages, changelogs and job posts on Friday afternoons.
“It was useful and nobody wanted to do it,” says Sam Okoro, product lead. “And by the time it was written up, it was Monday.”
Sourced, or it doesn't go in
The Friday competitor brief agent reads 14 public pages, compares them with last week's copies and writes one page of what changed. The one rule: every claim links to where it came from. The brief goes to #product after Sam approves it, and a copy is filed in Notion.
A second agent watches the open-source repositories Halden depends on and opens a Linear issue when a release could break something.
The brief is short, it's on time, and every line links to its source. I stopped opening twelve tabs on a Friday afternoon.
Friday back
The team gets about six hours a week back, and the brief arrives on time every week.
